The optional Premium subscription ($5/month) removes all ads and unlocks unlimited vehicle profiles, the trip cost estimator with savings & CO₂ tracking, priority email support, and early access to upcoming features (weather-aware range, advanced charging filters, trip statistics dashboard).

Free users can save 1 vehicle profile. Premium users get unlimited profiles — ideal for families with 2+ EVs or small business fleets. Each profile stores its own real-world range, kWh/100 km, home & public charging prices, currency and petrol baseline used to compute savings.

For every planned route WatTrip computes the exact energy used (kWh), the cost at home vs. at a public fast charger, how much you saved vs. driving a gasoline car and the CO₂ emissions you avoided. Energy and CO₂ are shown to everyone; the money figures are Premium.

Yes, when they are available. WatTrip parses the free-text pricing field from Open Charge Map for each stop you'll make and extracts the actual price per kWh plus any starting / session fee (formats like '0.45 €/kWh', '€0.35/kWh', '45 ct/kWh', '$0.42/kWh + $1 session fee', 'Free' are all recognised). Prices published in other currencies are automatically converted to your selected currency. Segments where the price is missing or ambiguous (hourly rates, membership-only, etc.) fall back to the public-charging rate from your vehicle profile. A note under the public cost tells you how many of your stops used real prices.

You pick EUR (€) or USD ($) in your vehicle profile — that's the currency all costs are displayed in. Charging stations priced in other currencies (GBP, CHF, NOK, RON, PLN and many more) are converted automatically.

On the Route Planner you'll find two sliders: 'Battery at departure' (10–100%) and 'Charge to at each stop' (50–100%). If you leave home with 60% instead of 100%, WatTrip plans an earlier first stop. If you'd rather not wait for the slow last 20% of the charging curve, drop 'Charge to' to 70% and WatTrip will add an extra shorter stop to keep you moving. The plan refreshes live as you drag.

When you pick a car from the in-app catalog, WatTrip pre-fills the autonomy field at 90% of the manufacturer's WLTP figure. Real-world driving is consistently ~10% below the lab number (highway speeds, cold cabin, cargo, HVAC). You can always override it manually if your own experience differs.

It does — WatTrip re-routes through your picked station via ORS every time you select or remove a stop, so the polyline actually detours through it and the total kilometres reflect the real drive. You'll see the map redraw and the ticket summary update. Selecting a station that's already near the original polyline will only change the distance by a few kilometres.

Yes. Tap any future-dated card in the Saved tab and it opens in the Route Planner with From, To, Via waypoints and autonomy all populated, then automatically computes the route with today's live charging-station data. Past trips are shown for reference but aren't tappable.

Yes. On the Route Planner, every stop has a × button. Tap it and WatTrip picks a different station in that leg (or warns you if there are no reachable alternatives). Tap any other station along the corridor to swap it in — the route is re-planned through your pick automatically.

Any EV. WatTrip is model-agnostic — you enter your real-world autonomy and consumption, so it works with Tesla, Renault, Hyundai, Kia, VW, BMW, Nissan, Peugeot, Citroën, Volvo, Ford, MG, BYD and every other electric vehicle on the road.

No. WatTrip requires no registration. Just install and use it. Your preferences (language, recent routes) are stored locally on your device.

Station data comes from Open Charge Map, a community-maintained open database. While we fetch the latest data automatically, availability, pricing, and connector details can change. Always verify before starting a long trip.

Enter your origin and destination, set your car's range, and tap Plan Route. WatTrip calls OpenRouteService (or OSRM as a fallback) for the polyline, then scans Open Charge Map for stations within a 10 km corridor and picks optimal stops at roughly 85% of your stated range.

Go to Android Settings → Apps → WatTrip → Permissions and make sure Location is set to 'While using the app' or 'Always'. Also ensure GPS / Location Services are enabled on your device.

Open the Google Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → WatTrip → Cancel. Your Premium access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Refund requests must go through Google Play. Open the Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → WatTrip → Refund (within the eligible window).

Go to the Settings tab inside the app → Language, and pick from English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, or System default.

If you just purchased Premium it may take a few seconds to sync. Force-close the app and reopen it. If ads persist after 24 hours, contact us with your Play order number.

No. Your exact GPS coordinates are used only on your device to center the map. Only the map viewport area (bounding box) is sent to Open Charge Map to fetch nearby stations — never your precise position.

WatTrip displays all connector types available in Open Charge Map: CCS (Type 1 & 2), CHAdeMO, Type 2 (Mennekes), Type 1 (J1772), CCS Combo, Tesla Supercharger, and more.

Check your internet connection and make sure Google Play Services is up to date. WatTrip renders the map with the Google Maps SDK for Android, which requires Google Play Services. If the issue persists after a restart, please contact support.

WatTrip pools open data from Open Charge Map, OpenStreetMap and community sources. Charging prices, station availability and connectors can be outdated or wrong. The first-launch disclaimer reminds you that all estimates (range, cost, arrival battery) are informational and should be verified at the charger. You can re-read the disclaimer any time from Settings.
